Cadillac offers the CTS Sport Sedan, the CTS Coupe and the CTS Sport Wagon in Europe with all-wheel drive – in addition to rear-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive models SRX Crossover, Escalade and Escalade Hybrid complement this current product range. Cadillac’s all-wheel drive is characterized by cutting-edge technology and represents decisive product characteristics that support the brand’s new start in Europe.

Modern all-wheel drive cars like the Cadillac CTS AWD, SRX and Escalade offer advantages that go well beyond superb handling on snow, ice and unpaved/dirt roads. They also deliver excellent performance on wet and dry roads, as modern all-wheel drive technology combines better traction with more driving fun. And in the process, these all-wheel drive systems inspire driver confidence with a sure-footedness that can only be accomplished when all four corners of the vehicle can be powered.

Cadillac fine-tunes the all-wheel drive systems depending on what fits best to the character of each model. The all-wheel drive systems distribute torque as needed between the front and rear axles as well as individual wheels, still tailored for each vehicle.

The all-wheel drive in a sporty sedan like the CTS is tuned for refined driving at all speeds. It also maximizes stability and handling, thereby minimizing the engagement of the StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control, which is standard in all Cadillac models.

With the luxury SUV Escalade, safety and maximum off-road traction are the priorities. The Escalade Hybrid SUV employs an Active AWD system for optimum fuel economy while the standard Escalade AWD utilizes a full time transfer case coupled to a locking differential to deliver optimal traction and great on-road performance and handling.

Similar to the CTS and Escalade Hybrid, the SRX also utilizes an Active AWD system to distribute torque between the front and rear axles. In addition to this it also utilizes an electronically controlled limited slip differential in the rear axle, ensuring optimum traction and handling performance in all situations.
